Custom Shoes

Custom Elevator Shoes for Women

Elevator shoes with a hidden internal lift, built to your measurements. Custom pairs let you choose the exact height increase, foot shape, materials, and style — the shoe fits your foot, not the other way around.

What "Custom" Actually Means

Our custom shoemaker takes your foot measurements — length, width, arch height, instep — and builds the shoe around them. The height-increasing layer height, outer sole design, toe shape, and leather are all decisions you make during the order.

Why Go Custom

Fit problems disappear. Standard elevator shoes add an internal wedge that eats into the toe box. If your feet are wide, narrow, or between sizes, off-the-shelf pairs pinch or slide. Custom shoes account for your exact dimensions.

You pick the height. Most off-the-shelf options sit in the 6–8 cm range. Custom shoes can be made lower by 3 cm for a small lift or higher by 10 to 12 cm in some styles.

Materials match your use. Daily commuter? Full-grain leather with rubber soles holds up. Occasional wear for events? Softer suede or patent leather works. You're not locked into whatever the factory decided.

Who Benefits Most

Women with hard-to-fit feet. Wide forefoot, narrow heel, high arch, bunions — standard shoes force compromises. Custom doesn't.

Professionals on their feet all day. Nurses, teachers, retail workers. The internal lift needs real arch support and cushioning underneath it. A custom builder can adjust both independently.

Anyone tired of the "elevator shoe look." The biggest complaint about off-the-shelf pairs: they look bulky. A custom maker keeps proportions clean because the design starts from scratch for your foot.

The Process, Start to Finish

  1. Measurement. Send foot tracings, or visit the maker in person. Some brands ship 3D foot-scanning kits to your door.
  2. Design consultation. Pick style, leather, sole, color, and height. A good maker will flag it if your height request doesn't work with the style you chose.
  3. Production. Handmade pairs take 3–6 weeks. Factory-custom (made-to-measure using adjusted standard lasts) runs 2–4 weeks.
  4. Fitting & adjustment. Most makers include one round of corrections if the fit isn't right on arrival.

What to Watch Out For

  • Price range is wide. Budget made-to-measure starts around $200–300. Full bespoke from established makers runs $400–800+.
  • Know the terminology. "Custom" often means you pick options from a menu. "Made-to-measure" adjusts an existing pattern to your size. "Bespoke" builds a new pattern from scratch. Ask which one you're getting before you pay.
  • Return policies are tighter. Custom shoes are harder to return. Confirm the adjustment policy before ordering.
  • Break-in still applies. Even custom leather shoes need 5–10 wears to fully conform. Don't judge the fit on day one.
