These are to elevate your height up by like two inches. I didn't realize this when I bought them... Nonetheless, they are a handsome pair of shoes and I will find the occasional to wear them. It is a learning curve to walk in these. I did notice that if you don't use the textured insole they include, then you tend to slide down a bit while walking and they should crush your toes, but I didn't feel the expected crushing which is good
