Short Men's Fashion Blog

I have a scholar friend that is also an enthusiast of elevator shoes. He always wore his elevator shoes for his law classes, legal presentations, and even his call-to-bar ceremony. His natural height was 5 feet and 5 inches. I want to share with you something he once told  me. He spoke about the difference in equality and equity as it concerns elevator shoes.

In his words, “it is an undoubted fact that most tall men get more out of life than short men do. But, I stand equal with a tall man when I wear my special shoes. Am I being deceptive? No. Am I being a cheat? Neither. I have merely understood that life doesn’t create equal opportunities and  I have realized that I can stand to be accorded equal respect, awe, admiration, and opportunities when I put on my elevator shoes. It’s not equality but equity.” Since then, I have loved the idea of wearing elevator shoes.

Elevator shoes have become a fashion piece that is no longer absurd to own and wear. If you are not so familiar with the concept of shoe lifts and elevator boots, I will like to clear the air on some false myth or sexist bias somewhat before explaining how the shoe works.

Firstly, not only women are allowed or should be allowed to wear shoe lifts. It shouldn’t be socially unacceptable for a man to walk around in his elevator shoes. This has been going on a while until recent times where more men have finally found their courage to buy themselves a pair.

Secondly is the social bias that women have always been more fashionable than men or that women are more likely to keep up to date with fashion trends than men. I am going to tackle both statements by going down memory lane with you. Going a little bit in the history of fashion, you’d be surprised to find that men cared more about fashion and had a reputation of keeping up with trends many centuries ago.

Would it surprise you to learn that the first wig was made by a man? Wigs were worn by ancient Egyptians and even the kingdom of England where kings would shave their real hair to fit the wig. All the while distracting them from their natural hair getting thinned or bald.

Another not so popular truth that you would find amusing is that men were first to wear high-heeled shoes. You would be surprised to find out that as of 700 years ago, men wore the same shoe lifts that are now common among women today. Men used these shoes to serve a function. Male riders wore high-heeled boots to get a better grip while riding horses. This made them ride more comfortably. Also, the shoe created some kind of status symbol that was identified with horse riders. Owing to the high cost of horses back then, anyone with a high heeled shoe was deemed respectable and wealthy.

In the 1700s, King Louis XIV was just 5 feet and 4 inches tall. He decided to use the high heel trend to his advantage. He was so overwhelmed by the ability of the shoe to make him look taller that he passed a law that a particular type of high heeled shoe is worn by only Nobles. If you think about it, that is probably how red heels emanated.

With all these said, what is an elevator shoe. An elevator shoe is a piece of footwear that provides additional insoles or outsoles to the footwear to make the wearer look taller. Just like its name, it has an ability to make the wearer look elevated through the use of shoe lifts.

The outsole could come in form of a heel or wedge because the insole but the component that does the lifting in the insole could come in plastic, rubber, or wood form. It also recently uses a polyether height increasing insole which is accompanied by a polymer rubber bottom to ensure the efficiency of the polyether and to prevent a skid.

Another recent technology is the detachable high-end PU shoe pad. This implies that you could have a normal shoe, fix the detachable shoe pad, and turn it into an elevator shoe. Simple right?

The use of elevator shoes is a fast-growing trend in the hearts of many men and women. As said earlier, women are not the only ones society permits to wear shoe lifts and heels. Men now rock this amazing footwear to weddings, casual hangouts, workplaces, business meetings, dates, parties, and many other events.

You may be asking yourself what benefits the elevator shoes hold or if it serves only height-increasing purposes. Well, that’s exactly why I’m here. I have carried out extensive researches and surveys on how the elevator shoe works, its benefits, why different people wear iy, and its shortcomings. It would shock you that these elevator shoes are next to perfect when it comes to the immerse benefits they offer.

A reliable survey has discovered that tall men exude more confidence than short men in social, professional, and personal activities. For most women, however, height isn’t so much a factor affecting them in that kind of way, except, of course, they are dwarf-like.

I have found that there is a steam of boldness and manliness that accompanies taller men. This is not to create a bias or some sort of stigmatization but a short man may have more intellectual capability and initiative than a taller man and still be beaten in the delivery and presentation of his thoughts. This unfair disadvantage that life puts him doesn’t have to remain the order of the day. It is unfair that a man loses amazing life opportunities due to his body type

If you get a pair of Elevator shoes, all these can go away as it gives you about a 4 to 5-inch lift. In the words of my friend  “You are not cheating. Neither are you being deceptive. You are merely trying to compete actively and equally in the business and corporate world, without intimidation”.

If you are a woman and you are faced with staring eyes or whispering lips at work, all because of your height, there are also feminine elevator shoes that you could put on to shun those lips and be more effective at work.

Another great benefit the elevator shoes presents is what the shoe can do for you, as it concerns your health. Wearing elevator shoes for some hours of the day has been recommended as a form of therapy for people with special orthopedic problems. You would see that occasional padding of the toes is a good way of maintaining a good body posture.

It has been found that middle-aged and older people who do not have time for fitness exercises can wear elevator shoes every now and then and still keep in shape. You don’t need to add that to your mid-life crisis as you could be carrying out your normal daily activities while still improving your body form. So If you want to have a more assured and dynamic walk, you know what to do.

Wearing an elevator shoe can also help people who struggle with the habit of keeping a hunchback posture. It may sound funny but the elevator shoes can straighten you up if you wear them often enough.

Also, the ability of an elevator shoe to go as far as improving your mental clarity, confidence level, creating a higher vision, and outspokenness is what sets it from other shoes. You can wear your elevator shoes to an outing, a date, a party, or a casual hangout. Imagine a guy or a girl giving you a cold face at a party merely because you don’t have height genes. That would be awful right?

If you are also super sensitive about your height in the workplace, you can decide to wear it to office meetings and corporate occasions. You can now deliver effectively and compete fairly without being set aside unjustly. You can now create that first and long-lasting impression you always desired while taking a shower or having alone time.

You can hike, dance, jog, and do anything and everything that a normal shoe can do. The first few days of wearing an elevator shoe may be disconcerting and unusual to you, but everything should get back to normal in only a few days. You probably won’t even feel the difference anymore.

Elevator shoes are now very trendy. Just get the color and style that fits right with your dressing and you can get the whole crowd staring. Not to worry, they will be staring for a good reason this time. Don’t overthink it.

Even though most women wear high-heeled footwear for the trendy, aesthetic, and fashion reasons, there are still a few that wear it for functional purposes. Always remember that You are not the only one wearing it to feel better about yourself or to be a better version of yourself. You are not wrong for trying to live your best life cause that’s one of the most important humane things to do. Rock it and rock it hard.

Guys, get yourselves a pair and make that move, connect with new people, and live life the normal way. You would discover that there is a whole load of amazing opportunities and activities that await you. Ladies and gentlemen, step out proud in those elevator shoes and make your dreams come true.
